AFTER CARE
The healing process usually takes around 10 days, so please note that tattooed lips after a week still need to be properly cared for and treated hygienically. Following these guidelines will help your lips to heal in a way that reduces loss of ink and maximises how long you can rock your beautiful new lip blush before needing a touch-up.
Avoid spicy food such as chilli and curry the day of and the day following the treatment. The skin is open and it will hurt!
No picking! Picking will cause loss of colour. Your flakes will gently fall off by themselves when they are ready to!
No lip filler 4 weeks after your touch up treatment.
Avoid hot, sweaty exercise and saunas for 10 days. You can lightly exercise, but nothing that will cause overexertion or extreme sweating whatsoever.
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning for 4 weeks after procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors. Any prolonged sun exposure will cause premature fading.
Avoid taking long hot showers or saunas for the first 10 days.
Avoid swimming, or any kind until your lips have completely healed!
Avoid applying any type of makeup to your lips.

Be prepared for your lips to look a little red and dark once tattooed but don’t worry they will fade in colour 30-50%.
Up to 30-50% of your colour will fade as the scabs falls off within 3-10 days, do not pick your scabs and allow them to naturally fall off on its own as you don’t want to pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely.
-
Immediately after your cosmetic lip tattoo procedure and in the first seven days your lips will appear significantly darker and defined. Scabbing will appear and your lips may look dry and a bit ‘crusty’ however it’s not so bad that you cannot leave the house. It just looks like your lips are very dry and chapped. The use of an ointment daily will help comfort the appearance of chapped lips during this time.
-
The initial healing stage lasts 1-2 weeks and by about week 4-6, your lips should have healed completely. A touch up appointment , 6-8 weeks after is highly recommended , so the lip blush lasts longer.Be aware that the colour will vary quite a lot during the healing process before reaching the final colour that you agreed upon with your permanent makeup artist
The quality and consistency of your aftercare on your lips after a Lip Blush application directly impacts how your lips will look at the end of the healing process. -
The pigment used in cosmetic lip tattoo is semi-permanent and can last between 1-3 years. The pigment will begin to fade within 12 months. In order to keep your lips looking beautiful a touch up is recommended every 12 months maximum or earlier depending on your desired outcome.
